before switching to a rangefinder i'd been shooting on a nikon slr, my primary lens being a 50mm. the difference is not as drastic as it sounds, but then again visually it is pretty obvious. i guess the best is to show examples.
this is from a 45mm (almost a 50). it's definitely more in-your-face, without too much "breathing room." it's definitely much more intimate.
this is from a 28mm. it doesn't scream out WIDEANGLE, which i think is great, and it isn't as in-your-face
i think the trick is to create something that feels intimate, with that much space, that's where you succeed with the 28mm
